Puerto Juárez ferry port lies in the north of Cancún and is the city's nearest access point to the island of Isla Mujeres. Up to 55 ferries leave here each day. The crossing takes about an hour. The port is served by Ultramar, which also runs sailings from Cancún's hotel zone.
Getting there and the terminal
Ultramar's terminal is at Avenida López Portillo, SM-84 M-5 L-6, Puerto Juárez, Cancún 77520. By car you take Avenida Bonampak and then continue onto Avenida López Portillo. Without your own vehicle, AUTOCAR bus route R-1 drops you right outside the terminal. From the hotel zone the boats leave instead from Playa Tortugas at kilometre 6.5 and Playa Caracol at kilometre 9.5 on Boulevard Kukulcán; both berths have car parks.
Check-in
Ultramar asks you to be at the terminal 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. The same applies to the departures from the hotel zone. Ultramar does not state a separate deadline for vehicles at Puerto Juárez.
