Rafina ferry port is on the east coast of Attica, around 100 metres from the town centre and about ten kilometres from Athens airport. It supplements Piraeus and sees itself as the way to northern Euboea and the northern Cyclades. From here you can reach 10 destinations, among them Mykonos, Tinos and Andros, plus Syros, Paros, Naxos, Ios, Sifnos, Thira and Heraklion on Crete. Together the services add up to as many as 96 departures a day. Crossings take between 2 and 8.25 hours: Andros is reached in two hours, and Crete takes the longest. The port is served by Cyclades Fast Ferries, Golden Star Ferries and SeaJets.
Getting there and the terminal
The port works around the clock. There are 13 ramps for conventional ferries and two for fast ferries; water depth at the berths ranges from 4.5 to 12.5 metres. For waiting there is an enclosed, air-conditioned terminal building and two open shelters. The taxi rank and the bus stop are at the port.
