Pelangi Jetty, Pulau Redang; Festlandsseite Merang Jetty

Pelangi Jetty is one of several landing stages on Redang Island off the east coast of Malaysia. From here you can reach Merang Jetty on the mainland and the neighbouring island of Lang Tengah. Together the routes add up to as many as 26 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 and 45 minutes. The berth is served by Vigourmarine.

Getting there and the terminal

Redang has six jetties, and which one you use is decided not by your ticket but by where you are staying: Vigourmarine drops its guests at the landing stage closest to their resort. Pelangi Jetty is the most sensitive of the six. At high water levels boats cannot land there; they divert to the neighbouring Laguna Jetty instead, and Vigourmarine notifies the hotel so that it can collect you there. So expect the actual landing point to be settled only on the day of travel.

On the mainland the crossing starts at Merang Jetty. It is the closest landing stage to the island and lies around 30 kilometres from Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Terengganu; from there the trip to the island takes 45 minutes to an hour. For the journey to the mainland end, Vigourmarine offers its own taxi and van transfers.
