Town port
- Location
- Rosendal, Vestland
The ferry port of Rosendal lies in Norway on the Hardangerfjord in Vestland county, only a few steps from the village. From here you can reach Bergen and Flesland. Together the routes add up to as many as 8 departures a day, and the crossings take between 1.5 and 2 hours. The port is served by Rødne Fjord Cruise.
Getting there and the terminal
The operator calls the route the Hardangerfjordekspressen. In Bergen it berths at the Strandkaiterminalen in the city centre, not at a remote ferry port outside town; on the way the vessel also calls at the quay in Flesland. For the stretch between Bergen and Rosendal, Rødne gives around two hours in each direction, which matches the timetable here.
For your planning that means you board in the middle of Bergen and step ashore in the middle of Rosendal. Both ends of the route are walkable, and you do not need a hire car for the crossing itself. Most travellers are heading for Baroniet Rosendal, which gives the municipality its name as a day-trip destination. Flesland takes half an hour less than Bergen, because the stop lies on the way.
