Ferries to Salina

The ferry port of Salina is at Santa Marina Salina and, with up to 183 departures a day, is one of the busiest berths in the Aeolian Islands. From here you can reach 14 destinations. Within the archipelago it is 30 minutes to Lipari, 45 to Vulcano, 30 to Panarea and 75 to Stromboli, plus Alicudi, Filicudi and Ginostra. To the mainland and to Sicily the routes run to Milazzo (1.75 hours), Reggio Calabria (2.75 hours), Messina (3 hours) and Naples (5.5 hours). The shortest service takes 15 minutes and goes to Rinella, the second berth on Salina itself. The port is served by Liberty Lines, Siremar and SNAV.

Getting there and the terminal

Salina has two landing places, Santa Marina Salina and Rinella. Both are in the timetable, and Liberty Lines runs a desk at each, directly at the Molo d'Imbarco Aliscafi. In Santa Marina it is staffed daily from 04:45 to 20:30, in Rinella from 05:10 to 13:00, from 14:30 to 19:00 and from 21:00 to 21:30. Check before you travel which of the two your ticket names: they are two different places.

Check-in

Liberty Lines asks you to be at the berth with a valid ticket at least 30 minutes before departure. After that, carriage is no longer guaranteed. You can cancel up to 30 minutes before departure at the desk in the port of departure. For the car ferries, each operator states its own deadline on the ticket.
