The ferry port of San Pedro lies within the Port of Los Angeles in the United States. From here you can reach Avalon and Two Harbors on Catalina Island. Together the routes add up to as many as 16 departures a day. The crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The port is served by Catalina Express.
Getting there and the terminal
Catalina Express sails from the Sea and Air Terminal at Berth 95, at the junction of Swinford Street and Harbor Boulevard, in the middle of the waterfront of the Port of Los Angeles. By car you follow the 110 freeway to its southern end. Of the operator's terminals, San Pedro is the one closest to Los Angeles airport. There is a managed car park at the terminal, run by PCI Parking.
Check-in
The ticket office opens one hour before the first departure of the day and closes after the last scheduled departure. Check-in begins one hour before your booked crossing. By 15 minutes before departure at the latest you must have your ticket in hand and be ready to board. You may check two pieces of luggage per person, plus one piece of hand luggage; separate rules apply to cool boxes, fishing rods and pushchairs.
