Sandefjord ferry port lies in the Vestfold region on the western side of the Oslofjord, around 120 kilometres south of Oslo. It has a single but busy job: the crossing over the Skagerrak to Strömstad in Sweden. Up to 4 ferries leave each day. The crossing takes about 2.5 hours. The port is served by Color Line, which uses the hybrid ship Color Hybrid.
Check-in
Color Line opens check-in about two and a half hours before departure and expects you at the terminal no later than 30 minutes before departure, with a vehicle and on foot alike. Booking and paying in advance gets you through the gate faster. You have to bring an identity card or passport; the operator checks documents on every sailing. An age limit applies on this route as well: passengers must be at least 16, and 20 for the day return leaving at 17.00. Pets are allowed to travel on board the Color Hybrid.
