Santa Cruz ferry port lies on Flores, the westernmost island of the Azores in Portugal. From here you can reach Vila Nova do Corvo. A ferry leaves up to 6 times a day. The crossing takes around 45 minutes. The port is served by Atlanticoline.
Getting there and the terminal
The harbour of Santa Cruz das Flores is called Porto das Poças and lies a good kilometre from the centre of the town. It is easy to confuse with Lajes das Flores at the southern end of the island, which is the second harbour of Flores. The service to Corvo almost always runs from Porto das Poças.
The island's short distances help. Flores airport lies in the middle of Santa Cruz, the town centre is walkable from the harbour, and taxis are on hand for luggage.
Do not think of the service to Corvo as an ordinary ferry. The boat used is small and takes only a handful of passengers. In summer it runs up to four times a day, in winter often only twice a week. In the months from June to August it gets busy, and then it pays to book early; if you are prone to seasickness, remember to bring something for it.
