- Sauzon, Morbihan
Sauzon ferry port is the second berth of Belle-Île-en-Mer off the coast of Brittany in France. From here you can reach Quiberon. A ferry leaves up to 6 times a day. The crossing takes around 30 minutes. The port is served by Breizhgo Oceane.
Getting there and the terminal
The island's main port is Le Palais; Sauzon is the smaller alternative in the north-west and is served from April to November. One difference decides your booking: the Quiberon - Sauzon service is worked by the Vedette Kerdonis, and it takes foot passengers only. Cars, bicycles and e-bikes stay behind. If you want to take a vehicle across, you have to use the car ferry to Le Palais.
On the mainland the vessel sails from the Gare maritime Port Maria in Quiberon. Quiberon lies at the end of a narrow peninsula and the traffic backs up in summer; park-and-ride sites with shuttle buses and BreizhGo bus route 601 from Auray save you the drive in. In Sauzon itself, Belle-Île Bus services take you on to all four communes of the island, and there is a tourist office information point next to the Capitainerie.
Check-in
The Belle-Île tourist office advises being at the Gare maritime at least an hour before departure. For the car ferries to Le Palais there is a fixed requirement: 45 minutes before departure with a vehicle.
