Schinoussa ferry port is on Schinoussa, one of the Small Cyclades between Naxos and Amorgos. From here you can reach 8 destinations, among them Aegiali, Donoussa and Iraklia. Together the services add up to as many as 16 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 6.75 hours. The port is served by Blue Star Ferries and Small Cyclades Lines.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth is called Mersini and is little more than a quay. Chora, also known as Panagia and the island's only village of any size, is around 1.2 kilometres further up, hidden behind a hill and out of sight from the boat. With luggage that is a noticeable climb; if you have booked in Chora, check beforehand whether your accommodation collects guests from the harbour.
In the timetable Schinoussa has two very different faces. The "Express Skopelitis" of Small Cyclades Lines is based on Naxos and calls at the Small Cyclades every day except Sunday: the workhorse of the island group, small and slow but reliable. The large ferries from Piraeus come less often, but they need far less time for the same distance. For connections on Naxos or Amorgos it is worth laying both timetables side by side.
