The ferry port of Serifos is at Livadi on the south-east side of the Cycladic island, in a bay sheltered from the meltemi, and is the only ferry berth on the island. From here you can reach 18 destinations, among them Piraeus, Sifnos and Milos. Together the services add up to as many as 55 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 9.75 hours. The port is served by Cyclades Fast Ferries, Hellenic Seaways, Magic Sea Ferries and SeaJets.
Getting there and the terminal
Livadi is also the largest village on the island, so everything you need is at the port: waiting halls, travel agencies and ticket desks, a bank, a post office, a petrol station, the police and the port authority, plus cafés and tavernas. The Chora, the main town, is around five kilometres away above the bay and can be reached by road or on an old kalderimi. The port authority describes the berth as usable in all weather, which is an advantage over more exposed Cycladic ports in the meltemi season.
Check-in
For the Cyclades routes, Hellenic Seaways asks you to be in the boarding area at least one hour before departure, with a vehicle as well as on foot. That is the strictest figure among the operators at the port. If you miss the departure, the fare is not refunded.
