- Shute Harbour Marine Terminal, 296 Whitsunday Drive
Shute Harbour ferry port in Queensland is one of the gateways to the Whitsunday Islands. From here you can reach Hamilton Island Marina and Daydream Island. Together the services add up to as many as 11 departures a day. The crossings take between 15 and 30 minutes. The port is served by Cruise Whitsundays.
Getting there and the terminal
Shute Harbour Marine Terminal is at 296 Whitsunday Drive and is open daily from 7am to 5pm. It is run by the local council, and nine providers handle ferries, water taxis, charter boats and excursion trips there. There is a car park and space for coaches. Cruise Whitsundays describes its own spaces as limited and charges for them through a parking service. A bus stop is right by the terminal, and taxis and ride services call there too. One important point: the operator's counter at Shute Harbour is not staffed, so sort out any questions by phone beforehand.
Check-in
For the island services, Cruise Whitsundays requires check-in 30 minutes before departure. Baggage acceptance closes 15 minutes before departure, and boarding ends 5 minutes before the departure time.
