Touristenkai im Sihanoukville Autonomous Port

The ferry port of Sihanoukville is in Cambodia and is the starting point for the islands offshore in the Gulf of Thailand. From here you can reach Koh Rong Samloem and Koh Rong. Together the services add up to as many as 90 departures a day. The crossing takes around 45 minutes. The port is served by Buva Sea Cambodia, G.T.V.C Boat, Island Speed Ferry and Speed Ferry Cambodia.

Getting there and the terminal

The decisive point for getting there: the old Serendipity Beach Pier at Ochheuteal Beach is no longer used. The fast boats to the islands now leave from the tourist quay of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Cambodia's large commercial and cruise harbour next to Victory Beach. Guidebooks, booking confirmations and accommodation providers still name the old berth in places, and anyone who relies on that ends up at the wrong end of town.

The easiest way to the port is by tuk-tuk, which can be ordered through the usual ride-hailing apps. From Sihanoukville airport it is about 20 minutes by taxi or tuk-tuk, from Kampot around two hours by bus, from Phnom Penh two to two and a half hours. The port site is open from 6:30 to 3:00, and the ferries to the islands leave between 7:45 and 17:00. The long-distance buses from Phnom Penh arrive between 8:00 and 17:00, so bus and boat can be combined on the same day.
