Sikinos' ferry port lies in the bay of Alopronia on the south-east coast of the island, between Ios and Folegandros. From here you can reach 14 destinations, among them Ios, Folegandros, Thira, Naxos and Piraeus. Together the connections add up to as many as 25 departures a day, and crossings take between 30 minutes and 13 hours. The port is served by Cyclades Fast Ferries, Hellenic Seaways and SeaJets.
Getting there and the terminal
Alopronia is the island's only berth and itself no more than a small fishing village with shops, cafés and rooms; there is no terminal building. The two other settlements, Chorio and the fortified Kastro, sit above it in the interior, the Kastro some 280 metres above sea level. Tickets are handled by the local agency at the harbour. Excursion boats to the remote beaches also leave from Alopronia.
Check-in
For its services to the Greek islands, Hellenic Seaways requires you to be in the boarding area 60 minutes before departure, with or without a vehicle.
