Smørhamn ferry port lies on the west coast of Norway, in the municipality of Bremanger. From here you can reach 10 destinations, among them Askvoll, Bergen and Florø. Together the services run up to 34 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 3.75 hours. The port is served by Norled.
Getting there and the terminal
Smørhamn sits on the southern tip of Bremangerlandet, between the Frøysjøen to the east and the island of Frøya to the west. It is no longer a village: the trading post that stood here from the 17th century lost its importance in the late 19th century to Kalvåg on Frøya. That is exactly the point when you arrive. Smørhamn today is the berth for Kalvåg, which is linked to Bremangerlandet by a bridge. If the fishing village of Kalvåg is your destination, this is where you get off.
A road has reached Smørhamn since 1956, and buses have run to the quay ever since. The fast boats between Bergen and Nordfjord have called here since 1972, and ferry links to Kjelkenes and Florø were added in 1974. Alongside the long line to Bergen, the Kystvegekspressen between Florø and Måløy uses the same quay, which makes Smørhamn remarkably well connected for a handful of houses.
