Sobra ferry port is the main berth of the island of Mljet in Croatia. From here you can reach Dubrovnik, Luka Sipanska and Polace. Together the services run up to 8 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.25 hours. The port is served by TP Line.
Getting there and the terminal
Sobra lies in the east of Mljet, while the national park with its two salt lakes and the Benedictine monastery on the island of Sveta Marija is at the other end. If the park is your goal, Polače or Pomena get you closer; by boat it is another 20 minutes or so from Sobra to Polače. The harbour itself has a few restaurants and a made-up beach, and the 43-kilometre hiking trail across the island starts here.
Without a car you still get around well if you know the buses. Two lines serve Sobra: one westwards via Babino Polje, Ropa, Polače, Pristanište and Goveđari to Pomena, and one eastwards via Prozura, Maranovići and Korita to Saplunara. Departures are timed to the arrival of the boats, and in July and August they shift depending on the day of the week. It also means an early start: the morning buses towards Sobra leave shortly before five. Taxis are available as an alternative.
