Porto Marina Piccola
Location
Marina Piccola, Sorrent, Metropolitanstadt Neapel, Kampanien

Sorrento ferry port is in Campania below the town at Marina Piccola and is the most used jumping-off point between the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. From here you can reach 9 destinations, among them Capri, Positano and Amalfi. Together the services add up to as many as 180 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 2.75 hours. The port is served by 9 operators, among them Alilauro, Alilauro Gruson and Caremar.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth is called Porto Marina Piccola and lies on the water below the centre. Caremar describes it as reachable via the road network and a few hundred metres from the central bus stop. At the berth you will find ticket desks, a bar, cash machines, covered waiting areas, kiosks and a taxi rank. Because the town sits high above the harbour basin, you go down from the centre and back up again on your return; with heavy luggage, take the bus or a taxi.

Check-in

In its conditions of carriage, Alilauro requires you to be on the quay at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. Miss that deadline and you lose your place on board, even with a valid ticket. The same rule applies to Alilauro Gruson. With services to Capri and Positano running so frequently, the ticket desks have long queues in summer, so allow a generous buffer.
