Spetses ferry port lies on the Saronic island of the same name off the east coast of the Peloponnese. From here you can reach six destinations, among them Hydra, Piraeus and Poros, plus the nearby mainland ports of Ermioni, Porto Heli and Agia Marina. Together the connections add up to as many as 59 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 2 hours. The port is served by Alpha Lines, Hellenic Seaways and Magic Sea Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

The main berth is called Dapia and lies in the middle of the main town. From Piraeus the fast ships leave from Gate E8 and call at Poros, Hydra and Ermioni on the way; the municipality of Spetses reckons on about two hours for the trip by fast ship. For the high season from June to September it expressly advises booking tickets in advance.

Do not count the island as a destination for a car: private cars are not freely admitted on Spetses. From the berth you continue on foot, by bicycle, by water taxi to the beaches, or in one of the horse-drawn carriages waiting at the Dapia and on Poseidonion square. The ring road around the island measures 25 kilometres, which makes Spetses a manageable island for cycling.
