Marina South Pier (Stadtseite)

St John’s Island ferry port is in Singapore, south of the main island. From here you can reach Marina South Pier. There are up to 6 departures a day to choose from, and the crossing takes around 30 minutes. The port is served by Singapore Island Cruise.

Getting there and the terminal

The city side of the service is Marina South Pier, 31 Marina Coastal Drive. Singapore Island Cruise puts the walk there at one minute from Marina South Pier MRT station (NS28, Exit A); the orange ticket desk stands right at the pier. Coming by train and bus is the better choice, because according to the operator there are only a few parking spaces at the pier.

One restriction currently applies on the island itself: Marina South Ferries points out that the main jetty of St John’s Island is closed for repair work. All ferries call at the Pulau Seringat Jetty on neighbouring Lazarus Island instead, and from there it is a 15 to 20 minute walk to St John’s Island. For the return there is a firm limit: according to the national parks authority, the last public ferry leaves at 6pm.

Check-in

Marina South Ferries requires you to be at Marina South Pier 30 minutes before departure to collect the printed tickets. Seats are not allocated, and at weekends and on public holidays the boats fill up early. Allow this lead time for the return trip as well.
