Terminals
Faehrterminal Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2AE
Location
Stornoway, Western Isles, Schottland

The ferry port of Stornoway is on Lewis and Harris, the largest island of the Outer Hebrides, and is its main link to the Scottish mainland. From here you can reach Ullapool. There are up to 4 sailings a day and the crossing takes around 2.75 hours. The port is served by Caledonian MacBrayne.

Getting there and the terminal

The terminal stands directly on the harbour basin in the town, postcode HS1 2AE. In front of the building there are 40 free short-stay spaces with a two-hour maximum, plus four disabled bays. If you are leaving the car for longer, use the public car park with 120 spaces a minute's walk away, which is also free. The bus stop is 50 metres from the terminal and the taxi rank two minutes on foot. With a vehicle you drive to the check-in booth, which stands to the left behind the car park entrance; for cars the operator explicitly recommends booking in advance. On foot you report to the desk in the terminal building. Inside there is a ticket office, a waiting area, toilets, baby-changing facilities and free wi-fi.

Check-in

Caledonian MacBrayne expects you at the port at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, whether you are travelling with a vehicle or on foot. Arrive later and you lose your place on board.
