Strömstad ferry port lies on the Swedish west coast on the Skagerrak, in Västra Götaland county and only a few kilometres from the Norwegian border. From here you can reach Sandefjord in Norway. Up to 4 ferries leave each day. The crossing takes about 2.5 hours. The port is served by Color Line, which uses the hybrid ship Color Hybrid. The berth handles this one route only, but it runs year-round and seven days a week. For travellers from western Sweden, Strömstad is therefore the shortest way across the Skagerrak to Norway.

Check-in

Color Line opens check-in about two and a half hours before departure and expects you at the terminal no later than 30 minutes before departure, with a vehicle and on foot alike. Booking and paying in advance gets you through the gate faster. Keep an identity card or passport in your hand luggage; the operator checks documents on every sailing. A minimum age of 16 applies on this route, rising to 20 for the day return leaving at 17.00. Pets are allowed to travel on board the Color Hybrid.
