The ferry port of Tallinn is in Estonia, at Vanasadam, the Old City Harbour directly in front of the old town. The berth is in the City centre district. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Helsinki, Stockholm and Mariehamn. Together the services add up to as many as 35 departures a day. Crossings take between 2.25 and 17 hours. The port is served by Eckerö Line, Tallink & Silja Line and Viking Line. According to the port company, Vanasadam is Estonia's largest passenger port and one of the busiest in the Baltic Sea.
Getting there and the terminal
Two terminals share the scheduled traffic. Terminal A at Sadama 25/2 is used by Eckerö Line and Viking Line, Terminal D at Uus-Sadama 24 by Tallink. The Tallink vehicle check-in is at Pikksilma 19/2. From the terminal it is about 15 minutes on foot into the city centre.
Tram 2 stops at Vanasadam around 100 metres before Terminal A, and buses 19, 25 and 66 stop at Reisisadama D-terminal about 90 metres before Terminal D. For dropping off and picking up there are Kiss-and-Sail spaces at both terminals, where you can stand free of charge for 30 minutes with a parking disc. Terminal D additionally has a multi-storey car park with 385 spaces, charging points and direct access to the terminal.
Check-in
Tallink closes ticket registration 30 minutes before departure, and access to the ship ends 20 minutes before departure. If you are travelling to Åland with a vehicle, registration has to be completed an hour and a half before departure.
