Tanjung Pinang

Town port

Terminals
Pelabuhan Sri Bintan Pura, Tanjungpinang (Betreiber Pelindo Multi Terminal)

The ferry port of Tanjung Pinang is on Bintan in Indonesia. From here you can reach Tanah Merah in Singapore. There are up to 8 sailings a day. The crossing takes around 2 hours. The port is served by Majestic Fast Ferry and Sindo Ferry.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth is called Pelabuhan Sri Bintan Pura and lies on the west coast of Bintan, in the middle of the town of Tanjungpinang in the south of the island. It is run by Pelindo Multi Terminal. Alongside the international services to Singapore and to Stulang Laut in Malaysia, ships leave from here for the Riau Islands, as do small boats that reach Penyengat in ten to fifteen minutes. Since 2024 tickets have been sold through an e-ticket system, and baggage handling in the terminal is free.

One point matters when you choose your destination: Bintan has two ferry terminals and they are far apart. Sri Bintan Pura serves the town in the south. If you are heading for the resorts around Lagoi in the north, Bandar Bentan Telani gets you there much faster. From Tanjungpinang the road journey there takes a good one to one and a half hours.
