Tasucu
Town port
- Location
- Silifke, Mersin
The ferry port of Tasucu is on the Turkish Mediterranean coast in the province of Mersin, within the municipal area of Silifke; the centre of Tasucu adjoins the harbour basin directly. For travellers it is above all one thing: the shortest sea route to northern Cyprus. A single line runs from here, and it goes to Kyrenia. Akgunler Denizcilik operates it on about four days of the week with up to 4 departures a day, and the crossing takes around 6 hours. If you want to take your own vehicle to Cyprus, this is the place, because there is no ferry service to the south of the island. The port is small and easy to take in; handling is done by the operator, and because this is an international route you need a passport and the full border formalities. Allow considerably more time than for a domestic ferry and go by the times printed on your ticket. Accommodation and bus connections are in the town, so within walking distance of the berth. For access and check-in the operator's own information applies; the port publishes no terminal information of its own.
