The ferry port of Terracina is in Lazio in Italy. From here you can reach Ponza. There are up to 6 sailings a day. The crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The port is served by NLG.
Getting there and the terminal
Handling is done at NLG's biglietteria on Via del Molo in the port of Terracina. The desk is staffed daily from 07:30 to 12:40 and from 15:30 to 20:00, and closed in between. Worth bearing in mind if you arrive around midday. For the drive in, the operator recommends reserving a space in the car park near the port in advance.
Check-in
NLG requires you to report to the desk in the port of departure at least 20 minutes before the scheduled sailing to collect your boarding pass. A ticket bought online is not enough on its own in Terracina: the operator allows check-in at the ship itself only in Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri and Naples. Miss the deadline and your reservation lapses and you go on the waiting list; you then travel only if places remain free. On a summer route to Ponza that is a real risk, not a formality.
