Trieste lies at the northern end of the Adriatic, where Italy, Slovenia and Croatia meet. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Piran, Poreč, Rovinj and Mali Lošinj. Together the services run up to 10 departures a day, and the sailings take between 45 minutes and 4.75 hours. They are operated by Liberty Lines, as a seasonal summer service with hydrofoils.

Getting there and the terminal

The boats to Slovenia and Istria leave from Molo IV at the Nuova Stazione Marittima, the pier at the edge of the old free port directly in front of the city. The Liberty Lines office responsible for Trieste is there too. It is a short walk from the city centre to the quay; the landing stage is on the waterfront in front of the old town, not in the port's freight facilities far outside.

Check-in

On international routes Liberty Lines requires you to be there at least 45 minutes before departure so that border control and check-in can be completed; on domestic routes 15 minutes is enough. All services from Trieste go abroad, so the longer deadline applies throughout. After that you no longer have a right to be carried.
