The ferry port of Turku lies at the mouth of the Aura on the south-west coast of Finland. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Stockholm, Långnäs and Mariehamn. Together the services add up to as many as 15 departures a day. Crossings take between 4.25 and 17 hours. The port is served by Tallink & Silja Line and Viking Line.
Getting there and the terminal
Both operators have their own terminals in the passenger harbour. For satnavs the port gives the addresses of the vehicle check-ins: Nuottasaarenkatu 4 for Viking Line, Kuljetuskatu 4 for Tallink Silja. On the road you follow the signs for Turun Satama or Satama. The port has its own railway station and a long-distance bus station, both around 200 metres from the terminals, and their timetables are matched to the ships' departures. City bus 1 runs to the port from the centre and from the airport. Parking is within walking distance of the terminals and is paid by card or app. Watch the signs: the road network in the port is being rebuilt and a temporary traffic layout is in force.
Check-in
At Tallink Silja, registration closes 30 minutes before departure, and on the Åland routes vehicles have to be checked in as early as 1.5 hours beforehand. The vehicle check-in at the terminal opens 1.5 hours before departure, and boarding ends 20 minutes before departure.
