The ferry port of Ullapool is on Shore Street in the middle of the village, on the north-west coast of Scotland in the Highland region. It is the mainland end of the Hebrides link: from here you can reach Stornoway on Lewis and Harris. There are up to 4 sailings a day, all year round. The crossing takes around 2.75 hours. The port is served by Caledonian MacBrayne.
Getting there and the terminal
The address is Caledonian MacBrayne, Shore Street, Ullapool, IV26 2UR. Buses stop ten metres from the harbour, and a local taxi firm can be reached by telephone. You can park on the car park in the village centre by the Tesco, postcode IV26 2XB; the machines are operated by Highland Council. Accessible bays are marked out in the assembly area at the terminal. Inside the building you will find a ticket desk, a waiting area, toilets, baby-changing facilities, vending machines, charging points for electric cars and free wi-fi.
Check-in
Caledonian MacBrayne requires 45 minutes for vehicles: you report at the check-in booth on the left-hand side. On foot 30 minutes is enough, and you go to the desk in the terminal. The harbour office is staffed from the end of March to mid-October on weekdays from 9am to 5.30pm, and for longer on Saturdays and Sundays.
