Together the services add up to nearly 30 departures a day. Crossings take between 45 minutes to São Roque and 6.5 hours to Praia da Vitória. The densest service is to São Roque with up to ten departures a day, while Horta is called at daily. The port is served by Atlanticoline.
Getting there and the terminal
Portos dos Açores, the port administration of the Azores, gives the distance to the village of Velas as around 200 metres; it is five kilometres to São Jorge airport. The quay is 150 metres long and takes ships of up to 120 metres. There is parking at the harbour, and you will find restaurants and taxis in the adjoining village, as well as the SEF border control. So from the village centre it is a few minutes' walk to the ship.
