City port

Location
Vibo Valentia, Vibo Valentia, Kalabrien

The ferry port of Vibo Valentia is in Calabria on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Hydrofoils run from here to the Aeolian Islands: Stromboli in around 1.5 hours, Panarea in two hours, Salina in a good 2.5 hours, Lipari in a good three hours and Vulcano in 3.5 hours. The longest service goes to Milazzo on Sicily and takes around 4.5 hours. Together the services add up to as many as 12 departures a day. The port is served by Liberty Lines.

Check-in

Liberty Lines requires you to be at the boarding point no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure. For international routes it is 45 minutes, which does not matter from Vibo Valentia because all destinations are in Italy. If you have booked assistance for reduced mobility, you have to be there at least 30 minutes before departure.

The operator publishes nothing about parking at the quay or the exact location of the biglietteria; for enquiries it refers you to its call centre. So allow time to find the berth once you are there.
