- Location
- Lungomare, Vlora, Qark Vlora, Süd-Albanien
The ferry port of Vlora is in the southern Albanian port city of the same name on the Adriatic, where the coast changes from the flat north into the mountains of the Albanian Riviera. The berth is near the Lungomare waterfront promenade, a good two kilometres from the town centre. One ferry route runs from Vlora across the Adriatic to Brindisi in Apulia: Starlines operates it on a good four days of the week with up to 4 departures a day, the crossing takes around 7 hours and is mostly made overnight. That makes Vlora the second Albanian gateway to Italy alongside Durrës, and for travellers from the south of the country much the shorter way to the ship. Because this is an international route outside the Schengen area, passport and customs checks are part of the process. Go by the time Starlines gives on your ticket and expect to wait before the controls. If you are travelling with your own vehicle, plan for the night sailing and arrange onward transport from Brindisi in advance. For access, parking and check-in, only what the operator states in your booking confirmation applies.
