Volos ferry port is on the Pagasetic Gulf in Thessaly and is the main gateway to the Northern Sporades. From here you can reach 5 destinations: Platanias on the Pelion peninsula in 1.75 hours, Glossa in 2 hours, Skiathos in 2.25 hours, Skopelos in 2.5 hours and Alonissos in 3 hours. Together the services add up to as many as 34 departures a day. The port is served by Aegean Flying Dolphins, Mantoudi Lines and SeaJets.
Getting there and the terminal
All ferry traffic uses the central pier, the Kentrikos Provlitas, which is also home to the port authority and the administration of the port company. The location is unusually convenient by Greek standards: it is only around 200 metres from the town centre to the pier, and the walk along the seafront is flat, so it is manageable with luggage. If you arrive by car, there is a managed car park run by the port company on the central pier. Alongside the Sporades ferries, the services to Trikeri, Agios Konstantinos and Thessaloniki also leave from the same pier, worked by car ferries and hydrofoils alike. The address for your satnav is simply Kentrikos Provlitas Limenos Volou, 382 21 Volos.
