Vuosaari ferry port lies in the district of the same name in the east of Helsinki, away from the city-centre passenger terminals. From here Eckerö Line sails to Muuga near Tallinn, up to 6 times a day; the crossing takes about 2.75 hours.
Getting there and the terminal
Check-in for the Muuga route is in the Ruusuniemi area at Ruusuniementie 7 and is separate from the Hansa Terminal, which handles the ferries to Travemünde. Entry is automatic, via number-plate recognition. One thing to note for the drive: the road tunnel to Vuosaari has been closed since 6 January 2026, and traffic is diverted via Ring III and the Itäväylä. The port publishes diversion maps and illustrated directions for this. Parking spaces at the port can be reserved through the Satamaparkki booking system.
Check-in
Check-in closes 45 minutes before the scheduled departure. The route can only be travelled with your own motor vehicle: all passengers must board in the vehicle, bicycles are not permitted, and the vehicle has to be booked in advance. On board, the cars are led in by an escort vehicle.
