The ferry port of Zakynthos is in the island capital of the same name on the east coast of the southernmost of the large Ionian islands. From here you can reach Kyllini on the Peloponnese. There are up to 12 sailings a day and the crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The port is served by Levante Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

The ferry berth is in the harbour of Zakynthos town on the east coast of the island. So you arrive in the middle of the island capital and need no transfer to a remote terminal outside the town.

More important is telling it apart from the island's second landing place: the village of Agios Nikolaos at the northern tip of Zakynthos has a small harbour of its own, from which the service to Kefalonia leaves. Both carry the island's name in the timetable but lie at opposite ends of Zakynthos. So check which of the two is on your ticket before you set off.

For the journey overland, the main road EO35 runs south from the island capital as far as Keri; provincial roads link the town with Vasilikos in the east and Volimes in the north. If you fly in, the trip is short: Zakynthos airport is around 4.3 kilometres from the capital.
