Zamboanga City
City port
Zamboanga City ferry port lies at the tip of the Zamboanga peninsula in the south-west of Mindanao. From here you can reach Manila on Luzon, Dipolog City on the north coast of Mindanao and Dumaguete City on Negros. Together the services run up to 4 departures a day, and crossings take between 11 and 32.5 hours. The port is served by 2GO Travel. The ship to Manila sails once a week and calls at Dipolog and Dumaguete on the way, which is why the three destinations appear together on one line. If you sail from here, you plan by day of the week rather than by time of day. The timetable further down shows when the next ship leaves.
Getting there and the terminal
The port lies around three kilometres south-east of Zamboanga airport, close enough for a short transfer between flight and ship. The city has no rail-based local transport. You get around by jeepney, whose numbered routes link the city centre with the airport and the bus terminal, or by tricycle, which stops practically anywhere and works well for the trip to the berth. 2GO Travel does not publish binding check-in times for this port. Allow a generous margin and ask when you buy your ticket what time the desk closes for your departure.
