- Jiuzhou Port, Qing Nv Nan Lu, Zhuhai, Guangdong (TurboJET)
The ferry port of Zhuhai is in China, on the Pearl River Delta opposite Macau. From here you can reach Hong Kong and Kowloon. Together the routes run up to 28 departures a day. The crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The port is served by TurboJet.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth is Jiuzhou Port, which TurboJET gives as Qing Nv Nan Lu in Zhuhai, Guangdong. On the Hong Kong side the boats call at two different terminals, and the difference is considerable: the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal is in the Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island and connects directly to the MTR, while the China Ferry Terminal is in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon, near the Star Ferry and also on the MTR. Both are served from Zhuhai. Check which one is on the ticket when you book, or you will be standing on the wrong side of the harbour basin.
Check-in
TurboJET asks you to be on board at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure so that the staff can check documents. The sailing takes you from the mainland into the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; the operator points out expressly that meeting the entry requirements there is your own responsibility. So factor in border processing and keep your travel documents ready.
