- Pelabuhan Ulee Lheue, Kecamatan Meuraxa, Banda Aceh
Aceh ferry port lies on Sumatra in Indonesia, at the north-western tip of the island. From here you can reach Sabang on Pulau Weh. A ferry leaves up to 6 times a day. The crossing takes around 45 minutes. The port is served by Express Bahari.
Getting there and the terminal
The berth is called Pelabuhan Ulee Lheue and lies in the Meuraxa district, around five kilometres from the centre of Banda Aceh. The site covers about eight hectares, with a passenger terminal as the main building, a car park and separate berths for fast boats and slow ferries. It is the only seaport linking Banda Aceh with Pulau Weh and Pulo Aceh: if you are heading for Sabang, you pass through here.
Check-in
On the Ulee Lheue - Balohan route, check-in closes 30 minutes before departure. With a valid ticket you may enter the port area up to three hours beforehand. Online sales end one hour before departure, and bookings open seven days in advance.
