Ferry ports in Sumatra

Ferries to Aceh
Banda Aceh (Ulee Lheu) is the ferry port for services to Pulau Weh/Sabang. Express Bahari runs fast ferries 3 times a day (45 min). The port is 20 minutes from the city centre.
Ferries to Muntok
Muntok (Tanjung Kalian) is the main port of western Bangka. Ro-ro ferries run up to 9 times a day to Tanjung Api-Api near Palembang, and the crossing takes about 3 hours. The port is also a cargo handling point.
Ferries to Palembang
Palembang is the capital of South Sumatra and a river port on the Musi, around 108 kilometres upstream from the river mouth. Express Bahari links Boom Baru port in the middle of the city with Muntok, and the crossing takes about 3 hours.
Ferries to Tanjung Balai
Tanjung Balai is a port on the island of Karimun in Indonesia's Riau province. Sindo Ferry runs ferries twice a day to Singapore HarbourFront (about 1.5 to 2 hours). The island is a popular short-break destination.
