Agaete ferry port lies in the north-west of Gran Canaria, at the Puerto de las Nieves. From here you can reach Santa Cruz de Tenerife: a ferry leaves up to 16 times a day, and the crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The port is served by Fred Olsen Express.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth is an old fishing harbour with a modern terminal built on to it. By car you drive west from Las Palmas on the GC-1 and then follow the signs for Agaete and the Puerto de las Nieves; allow around half an hour.

Without your own car you take the ferry bus, which Fred Olsen includes in the ticket. It links the Parque Santa Catalina in Las Palmas with the boarding area in Agaete and takes about 25 minutes. It leaves 60 minutes before the ship sails. Seats are limited and must be booked with your ticket at least 48 hours in advance; be at the stop 15 minutes before departure. Pets are not allowed, and folded bicycles go in the hold.

Check-in

Fred Olsen requires foot passengers to be ready to board at least 20 minutes before departure. Vehicles must be at the quay 40 minutes beforehand. Miss the deadline and you lose your booking.
