The ferry port of Anbo lies on Yakushima in Japan, on the east coast of the island. From here you can reach Kagoshima and Nishinoomote on Tanegashima. Together the routes add up to as many as 6 departures a day. Crossings take between 45 minutes and 2.25 hours. The port is served by Tane Yaku Jetfoil.
Getting there and the terminal
Yakushima has two ports, and that is the point where the journey can go wrong: depending on the sailing, the Toppy and Rocket hydrofoils call either at Miyanoura in the north or at Anbo in the east. Which of the two is on your ticket decides how far you still have to travel afterwards. Miyanoura is reached directly from Kagoshima in 1 hour 50 minutes.
The terminal in Anbo has the address Anbo 176-1, Yakushima-chō, in Kumage District. It comes with a car park, as well as a ramp, an automatic door, an accessible toilet and a defibrillator. From Yakushima airport the bus takes around 18 minutes to Anbo.
