- Bushaltestelle Ao Nang (Monkey-Themed Bus Stop) als Treffpunkt; Anleger ist der Nopparat Thara Pier
Ao Nang ferry port is in Thailand, in Krabi province. From here you can reach 5 destinations, among them Koh Phi Phi, Chean Vanich Pier and Koh Lipe. Together the services run up to 6 departures a day. Crossings take between one hour and 6 hours. The port is served by Tigerline Ferry.
Getting there and the terminal
Take the unwieldy name on your ticket literally: the departure point Ao Nang (Monkey-Themed Bus Stop) is not a pier but a bus stop with a monkey motif on the beach road in Ao Nang, in Mueang Krabi district. It serves as a meeting point, not as a berth.
The boats themselves leave from Nopparat Thara Pier, west of Nopparat Thara beach and about four kilometres from the hotels in Ao Nang. This pier is the hub for the trips to Koh Phi Phi and the surrounding islands, but it has few facilities: beyond the ticket check there are only a few small stalls selling drinks and snacks.
So check which of the two points is on your ticket before you set off. Four kilometres of beach road take more time in high season than the map suggests.
