Aomori Fährterminal von Tsugarukaikyo Ferry am Fährpier (nicht das benachbarte Aomori-Hafenterminal)

Aomori ferry port is in Japan, at the northern end of Honshu on the Tsugaru Strait. From here you can reach Hakodate and Muroran. Together the services run up to 14 departures a day. Crossings take between 3.75 and 6.75 hours. The port is served by Tsugarukaikyo Ferry.

Getting there and the terminal

Make sure you go to the right building: Tsugarukaikyo Ferry handles passengers at its own terminal at the ferry pier, while the neighbouring Aomori port terminal is a different address with its own bus stop. From the west exit of JR Aomori station it is around ten minutes by taxi and about 45 minutes on foot; from the Shinkansen station Shin-Aomori it is also ten minutes by taxi. The Nebutan-go loop bus takes about 15 minutes from JR Aomori to the ferry terminal. By car you come from the Aomori junction of the Tohoku expressway via the ring road and the western bypass of national route 7 in around 15 minutes; the signs point the way to the ferry pier.
