Arrecife is the capital of Lanzarote and the island's only ferry port. Five destinations are served: Puerto del Rosario on Fuerteventura is a good two hours away, and there are also Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Santa Cruz de La Palma as well as Cádiz on mainland Spain, the longest crossing at around 28 hours. Together the services add up to as many as 17 departures a day. The port is served by Balearia and Naviera Armas.
Getting there and the terminal
The scheduled ferries are handled at the Muelle de Los Mármoles; the operators simply give the address as Muelle de Los Mármoles, 35500 Arrecife. The quay is connected to the LZ-2, the island's main axis, and is therefore easy to reach from the south as well as from the north. Arrecife has several port areas, Puerto Naos among them; for the ferries, follow the signs for Los Mármoles. How early you have to be at check-in is not publicly documented for the Canary routes. With a vehicle, take the figure on your booking confirmation as your guide and allow plenty of time, because loading has to be finished before departure.
