Thung Makham Noi Pier, 13/7 Moo 3, Hat Sai Ri, Mueang Chumphon

The ferry port of Chumphon is in Thailand and is one of the gateways to the islands in the Gulf of Thailand. From here you can reach 4 destinations: Koh Tao, the offshore island of Koh Nang Yuan, Ko Phangan and Koh Samui. Together the services add up to as many as 21 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.5 and 3.75 hours; the shortest are those to Koh Nang Yuan and Koh Tao, the longest the one to Koh Samui. The port is served by Lomprayah High Speed Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth is called Thung Makham Noi Pier and is not in the town of Chumphon. The operator gives the address as 13/7 Moo 3 in the Hat Sai Ri subdistrict of Mueang Chumphon district, out on the coast. If you arrive in Chumphon by train or night bus, you are not at the pier yet and still have the journey there ahead of you; build it firmly into your timings. The office at the pier is staffed daily from 5:00 to 18:00, which fits the early departures towards Koh Tao. The operator sells tickets there in cash or by card, and also through its branches around the country.
