- Paknam Chumphon Boonsiri Pier (Boonsiri High Speed Ferries)
Chumphon on the Thai gulf coast is the mainland gateway to Koh Tao, the only destination the timetable lists from here. It shows up to 4 departures a day, and the crossing takes around 2 hours. The route is run by Boonsiri High Speed Ferries, and it runs daily.
Getting there and the terminal
Chumphon is the name of a town, not of a pier. Boonsiri leaves from Paknam Chumphon Boonsiri Pier, and that is the name that belongs on your ticket. As a pick-up point for the trip to the pier the operator lists Chumphon railway station. If you arrive by train, you change onto the transfer there; if you drive yourself, follow the pier name rather than the town centre.
Check-in
Boonsiri requires you to be at the stated check-in point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. Because the operator serves this port alone, that is the deadline that counts. If you use the transfer from the station, your pick-up time follows this requirement and not the departure time of the boat.
