The ferry port of Formentera is at La Savina in the north of the island and is its only access, because Formentera has no airport. From here you can reach 4 destinations. The crossing to Ibiza takes 30 minutes, and with up to 126 departures a day it runs at the frequency of an urban transport service. Then there are Denia and Palma at 3.5 hours each and Barcelona at 11 hours. Together the services add up to as many as 137 departures a day. The port is served by Aquabus, Balearia, Formentera Lines and Trasmapi.
Getting there and the terminal
According to the Balearic port authority, La Savina is the only way passengers and goods reach Formentera; more than a million travellers a year pass through it. The basin is sheltered by a mole 280 metres long. Behind it are the quays for passengers and freight, berths for leisure and fishing boats and a modern check-in hall. Since there is no second landing place on the island, you do not have to worry about the right terminal: every route leaves from here, and every route arrives here.
