Galway City Centre ferry port lies at the docks of the city of Galway on the Irish west coast, in the St Nicholas district. From here you can reach the three Aran Islands of Inishmore, Inisheer and Inishmaan. Together the services run up to 17 departures a day, and the crossings take between 1.75 and 2 hours. The port is served by Aran Island Ferries. From Galway the crossing takes noticeably longer than from Rossaveel further west, but you save yourself the drive through Connemara.

Getting there and the terminal

Aran Island Ferries gives the Galway City Docks as the point of departure. You get tickets and information at the operator's two offices in the city: 37 to 39 Forster Street, H91 FXA6, and 1 Victoria Place on Merchants Road, H91 FD72. The shuttle bus to Rossaveel harbour also starts at Victoria Place, if you would rather take the shorter crossing from there. Be there at least 20 minutes before the bus is due to leave. The operator publishes no fixed check-in deadline for the departures from Galway.
