Pak Bara Pier an der Andamanenkueste (Ploysiam Speedboat)

Hat Yai in southern Thailand appears in the timetable as the starting point for Koh Lipe. Up to 4 departures a day are listed, and the journey takes around 4.75 hours. The service is operated by Ploysiam Speedboat.

Getting there and the terminal

Hat Yai is not a port. The town lies inland, and the boats leave from Pak Bara Pier on the Andaman coast. Ploysiam Speedboat puts the trip from Hat Yai airport to Pak Bara Pier at around two hours and names a taxi or minivan as the means of transport. From Pak Bara the operator counts up to four departures a day to Koh Lipe; the sea crossing itself measures 60 kilometres and takes about an hour and a half by speedboat. The total duration given in the timetable therefore combines the land transfer and the crossing. Do not cut the road section too fine: if the van is late, the boat is gone.

Check-in

For the Pak Bara berth, Ploysiam Speedboat gives no fixed check-in deadline. So rely on the pick-up time the operator confirms for your transfer, and ask when booking exactly where in Hat Yai you will be collected.
