Hoteleigener Steg des Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, Motoujina-machi 23-1, Minami-ku

The Hiroshima Prince Hotel berth is not a municipal ferry port but the hotel's own jetty at the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima on the Motoujina peninsula in the south of the city. From here you can reach Onomichi, Mihara and Setoda. Together the services add up to as many as 4 departures a day. Crossings take between 3.25 and 3.75 hours. The berth is served by Setonaikai Kisen, whose ship heads for the island world of the Seto Inland Sea.

Getting there and the terminal

The address is Motoujina-machi 23-1 in Minami ward. Head for the hotel, not the municipal port: the jetty is on the hotel grounds, and if you look in the wrong place you miss the ship, because it sails only once, in the morning. The hotel has its own multi-storey car park, which is chargeable and billed in half-hour units with a daily maximum.

Check-in

You do not report at the jetty but inside the building: the Setonaikai Kisen travel desk is on the ground floor of the hotel and opens at 8:30. There you are given your boarding pass and seat, and then you walk to the neighbouring jetty. You should be at the quay at least five minutes before the ship casts off; departure is shortly before nine.
