The ferry port of Huelva is in Andalusia in Spain, but not in the town itself: Fred Olsen Express operates from the Puerto Exterior in the neighbouring municipality of Palos de la Frontera, around 14 kilometres from the centre of Huelva. From here you can reach Las Palmas on Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Together the services add up to as many as 4 departures a day. Crossings take between 34.5 and 40.5 hours. The port is served by Fred Olsen Express. These are long crossings of more than one night, and they do not run daily but on a few days of the week.

Getting there and the terminal

The address is Puerto Exterior, Muelle Sur, 21810 Palos de la Frontera. The Fred Olsen Express office opens three hours before each departure; before that you will find nobody at the terminal. The port has parking, left luggage for travellers without a vehicle, toilets and a waiting area before boarding.

Check-in

With a vehicle you should be at the port between one and three hours before the scheduled departure in order to get through the checks; boarding ends at the latest one hour before departure. The same limit applies to foot passengers: you have to have reported for boarding one hour before departure. Anyone arriving later loses the crossing, and the next one is days away.
